When buying a separator, check its completeness according to section 3 and the correctness of counterfoils 1 and 2 filling-in. Only trade organizations are admitted to lodge claims on non-completeness to the manufacturing plant. No claims are accepted from consumers. Please learn the separator’s operation manual prior to running it.
It is forbidden to operate a separator without filling oil into the sump.
For separation, use only fresh percolated milk (newly drawn or warmed-up to 30—40°C) with the fatness of 3...5%.
Steadily and gradually (without jerks) increase the drum rotation speed to the working rotations, i.e. to 65-75 rpm.
To prevent breakdown of a separator, do not increase the handle rotation speed over 75 rpm.
Prior to starting separation, warm up the milk duct by way of running at least 1 litre of water, warmed up to 40—50°C, through a separator.
A table surface should be horizontal and flat to ensure the vertical installation of a separator and its proper functioning.
A milk-discharge tap should be opened smoothly and only after reaching the working (65—75) rotations of a handle per minute. Abrupt opening of a tap may lead to the drum depressurization.
Prior to starting separation and before installing a drum onto a spindle, check the smoothness of the mechanism work by way of rotating a handle clockwise.
In case of drum increased hitting — re-install it turning by 180° relative to the spindle slot.
1. GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Cream separator with manual drive is intended for separating unskimmed milk into cream and skimmed milk (separated milk) in household with simultaneous decontamination.
1.1. The manufacturing plant guarantees proper and long-term functioning of a separator only if all the instructions hereof are thoroughly observed and complied with.
1.2. It is forbidden to operate a separator without filling oil into the sump. Operation without oil leads to quick destruction of screw pair gears and bearings.
1.3. A seller examines and checks a separator in the presence of a buyer. Sale of a packed separator without checking it is inadmissible. In such a case the manufacturing plant accepts no claims on non-completeness and mechanical damages.
1.4. Dishes should be dried at the temperature not higher than +60°C, since it may get deformed.
1.5. In the course of further improvement of a separator construction, the manufacturing plant reserves the right to make certain changes in the cream separator construction and design, hence the bought cream separator may differ from the on depicted in the picture and the description may also vary.
1.6. The manufacturing plant does not perform warranty repair of separators that do not have shop's sale marks in counterfoils 1 and 2.

4. SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
4.1. Do not work with an incorrectly installed drum and when the separator is not fixed firmly.
4.2. If there appears abnormal noise or the separator starts vibrating, the work should be halted and troubleshooting should be
4.3. Do not operate a separator with a loose drum nut pos.41 (fig.4).
4.4. Do not rotate a separator handle with a speed over 75 rpm.
4.5. Do not take the disks off until the drum has fully stopped.
4.6. Do not stop the drum with a hand or cloth. This may lead to the drum nut getting loose or the cloth may get caught.
5. DEVICE STRUCTURE
5.1. A separator consists of a driving mechanism, a drum and an input-output device.
In the drive body there is a gear mechanism assembled on a separate bracket which is fixed to a bed with three screws M6x12 (fig.2).
5.2. Rotation is imparted to a drum from a driving handle through gears and spindle.
5.3. Gears are lubricated with the oil splashed from an oil sump, and the leading pair is lubricated by way of gear pos.35 (fig.3) catching oil from post pos.36 (fig.3).
5.4. The adjustment of the spindle height is performed with washers pos. 27, 28 (fig.2) at the manufacturing plant.
5.5. A separator's main working organ is a drum. It consists of a base, a disk holder with a pack of disks, a sealing ring, a cap and a nut.
6. PREPARATION FOR WORK
6.1. A separator is shipped to a consumer semi knocked down in a cardboard box.
6.2. After unpacking:
thoroughly wash the milk dishes with hot 2% soda solution, rinse with clean water, rub them dry with a towel. In order not to cause scratches and loss of gloss when washing dishes do not use sand, powders, ash and other hard materials;
disassemble a drum, wash its parts with hot 2% soda solution, rinse with clean hot water, dry and assemble in the order mentioned below.
6.3. A drum (fig. 5) should be assembled in the following order:
put sealing ring 2 into drum base groove 1, then put disk holder 3 onto a feeding tube, so that a drum base pin enters the disk holder aperture.
Put in turn all disks 4 onto a disk holder in the following order:
first a spiked disk, next — a smooth disk, and so on putting the spiked and smooth disks in turn.
The last disk should be spiked.
Then put on separating disk 5 and drum cap 6. A fixer with an adjusting screw on a separating disk should enter into drum cap slot 6, and the point from the punching on the cylindrical part of the drum cap should be aligned with the slot on the drum base. Screw nut 7 onto the drum base tube and tighten it with a special wrench manually against the stop.
The disassembling of a drum is performed in the reverse order.
To loose a drum nut — hit the base slightly with a wrench end. When taking off a drum cap and a disks pack, the threaded part of the drum base is hit slightly onto a wooden stand.
6.4. A separator mechanism is fixed to a worktable (fig.2) in the following order:
- adjust the worktable with a level gauge;
- put cap pos.7 (fig.2) onto the worktable and fill it with 180+20 grams of machine oil, industrial oil И-12А or И-20А GOST 20799-88;
- install a separator mechanism onto the cap and fix it to the worktable with screws pos.2 (fig.2).
6.5. Install the assembled drum onto spindle pos.23 (fig.2) so that the drum pin enters the spindle slot.
6.6. Then install the following parts in turn onto the mechanism top (fig.1): skimmed milk receiver pos.6, cream receiver pos.5, float chamber pos.4 with float pos.3, milk receiver pos.2, tap pos.1.
6.7. Set the tap into the position where an arrow on its handle points to "closed" ("закрыто") on the milk receiver.
6.8. Parts pos. 2, 4, 5, 6 (fig.1) should be assembled without tilts.
6.9. Cream and skimmed milk receivers may be turned and set to the position convenient for cream and skimmed milk draining. The drum should not brush against the feeding tube of the float chamber.
7. OPERATION ORDER
7.1. For separation, use only fresh percolated milk (newly drawn or warmed-up to 30—40°C) with the fatness of 3...5%.
7.2. The working rotation of the drum should be gained smoothly, without jerks, gradually increasing the handle rotation speed to 65-75 rotations per minute.
An indicator of a handle nominal rotation speed (65—75 rpm) is the appearance of oil in the oil indicator pocket.
7.3. Tap pos.1 (fig.1) should be opened smoothly for draining milk and only after the handle gains working rotations (65—75 rpm).
7.4. The cream fatness is adjusted (fig.6) by way of turning adjusting screw 50 (fig. 4). To increase the cream fatness, turn the screw to 1,5 rotations from position “Aflush” (“Заподлицо”) with the surface of separating disk 43. To decrease the cream fatness, turn the screw to 5 rotations. If the screw hinders cap 42 removal when disassembling the drum, turn the screw to position “Aflush” (“Заподлицо”) with the separating disk surface. The screw is driven in and out with the adjusting wrench.
7.5. A separator stop.
7.5.1. The handle is being rotated till the end of the cream and skimmed milk output from the receivers.
7.5.2. After finishing work, without stopping the separator, run at least 1 litre of skimmed milk through the drum to partially remove the cream remnants from the drum.
7.5.3. In case of urgent termination of separator operation, close tap pos.1 (fig.1) and stop rotating the handle.
After turning off the separator, disassemble the dishes and the drum, wash them in hot water, rub and dry.
7.5.4. When removing the drum, it is possible that the spindle moves up the axis and the spindle teeth go out of gearing mesh with the gear.
When performing separation next time, it is necessary to ensure that the gearing is smooth by way of adjusting it with a handle and by rotating the drum manually clockwise.
